Scorning the Shame of the Cross

Hebrews 12:2-3 -- Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Three words popped out at me in these verses. "Scorning its Shame" I love that. God used a method of fatal humiliation in his plan of ultimate love. I doubt many people before Christ were praising God while being crucified...but after Christ was sacrificed they considered it a privilege to die like and for their Master. Jesus LITERALLY scorned the shame that a cross held. I find that truly fascinating--
